2. Ottoman Coffeehouse

The Ottoman Coffeehouse positions itself as a laid-back alternative to the tidal wave of brash city centre coffee chains. A short walk from the Kelvingrove park, it bridges the gap between the nostalgic coffee-house of the Ottoman past and the lounging relaxed comfort we want from today’s coffee shop. 3. Roast

Roast is a super small and friendly cafe in Finnieston serving freshly ground coffee, deliciously fresh sandwiches, home-made soups, and cakes. Tucked away at the top of Argyle Street, just before Dumbarton Road, Roast is perfect for grabbing a coffee then joining Kelvingrove park at the Kelvingrove Gallery side.

4. Dear Green

Dear Green is located in the heart of Glasgow’s creative East End, within The Glasgow Collective – just a stone’s throw away from the Barrowlands music venue and market, and also the large open park Glasgow Green. A speciality coffee roaster, Dear Green also sells wholesale, coffee subscriptions and coffee equipment and has a dedicated training space. They are B Corp certified and proudly visit coffee producers personally to make sure the coffee they source meets their ethical policies.

5. Cafe Strange Brew

Another Pollokshaws Road fave, Cafe Strange Brew is a dog friendly cafe in the heart of Shawlands serving up a great brunch and a fine cup of coffee. Minimalist in design the cafe has an extensive menu and is ideally positioned only a short walk from Queenโ€™s Park.

6. Papercup

Situated on Great Western Road halfway from the Botanic Gardens and the Kelvinbridge end of the Kelvingrove park, Papercup also has its own coffee roastery down by the Clyde. Committed to sourcing ethically & environmentally sound coffee beans, produce, and products, Papercup are seeking to push the limits of great quality. One of the longest running independent coffee brands in the West End, opened in 2012, Papercup have a vegan-focused brunch menu, and up to five different single origin coffee beans for filter and a full espresso menu.
